We are beyond excited to bring to you the CDHY Educational Interpreter HUB! 2024 holds some great opportunities to get back in the interpreting groove; there are big plans for Professional Development this year! We will be offering PD that fits the experiences and needs of Educational Interpreters who are seasoned or brand new!
In addition to PD we will be offering 1:1 Mentoring, Consultation, Ethics Discussions, Advocacy, Workplace Collaborations, Regional Workshops, RIT/STEM, Interpreter Role support, & a Mediated Education Liaison.
Interpreter Mentor Program
CDHY invites all Washington PreK-12 Educational Interpreters to engage in the CDHY Educational Interpreter Mentor Program on Zoom! This is an opportunity for educational interpreters of all skill levels to come and participate in language development, interpreter processing, discourse mapping, and techniques for evaluating our own work and personal development. With our new format, we will be introducing new opportunities each month so be sure to check back!
PNW STEM Workshop Series
In partnership with RIT/NTID, CDHY will be offering free STEM training. These informational sessions will cover things such as astronomy, physics and chemistry.
Regional Workshops
CDHY offers professional development for educational interpreters who want to further their knowledge and make an even bigger impact in their communities. Our in-person regional workshops provide networking, focused presenting, hands-on training, and are full of fun, interactive learning opportunities. All workshops will be presented in ASL.
Summer Book Club
CDHY invites teachers, paras, parents, interpreters, administrators, TOD’s, SLP’s and anyone who engages with Deaf or hard of hearing k-12 students to join our virtual Summer Book Club! This is a great opportunity to collaborate and engage with others who are invested in DHH students.
